UCONN’S NRCA

UCONN’s Natural Resources Conservation Academy

In 2015-2016 the Salem Land Trust partnered with The Natural Resources Conservation Academy (NRCA) at UCONN, in support of a Salem sophomore at East Lyme High School on a conservation research project. The research took place at SLT’s Zemko Sawmill Preserve on Rattlesnake Ledge Road. The student’s knowledge was broad, and her enthusiasm was inspiring!

UCONN’s NRCA provides opportunities for high school students to learn about land-use planning, natural resources science and conservation biology from UConn professors, graduate students, and naturalists from local conservation organizations such as The Salem Land Trust. Expertise and resources available at UCONN and the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment support this mission. Laura Cisneros is the NRCA Program Coordinator and may be reached at 860-486-491 or laura.cisneros@uconn.edu.
