Eagle Scout Projects
The Salem Land Trust Preserves have provided wonderful opportunities for Eagle Scout candidates to plan and execute their projects, and earn Boy Scout’s highest award.
In discussion with members of the SLT Stewardship Committee and Board of Directors, an Eagle Scout candidate decides upon a project. The Scout then must develop a complete plan and estimated costs for the Project. The Project is reviewed for worthiness by The Boy Scouts of America and “must present an opportunity for planning, development and leadership.” During the Project’s execution the candidate often supervises a work party of younger Scouts and parents.
On SLT Preserves Eagle Scout candidates have built Bluebird boxes, Wood Duck boxes, a large field gate for maintenance vehicles, and have blazed three SLT hiking trails. More Projects are in the planning stages!
Thank you Scouts!
