BATTY FOR BATS!

Presentation by Kim Hargrave

Of the nine species of bats that are native to Connecticut eight have protected status.  These insectivores are incredibly important to our local ecosystems and have many unique adaptations.  Learn why bats have become such a vulnerable species and ways that we can help protect our local bat populations.

Kim Hargrave is the Education Director at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, returning to the position in late June after spending the last 4 years in California.  She originally started at the Nature Center in 1998 after graduating from the University of Massachusetts.  Kim just moved to Salem in July, with her husband and 4 children.
